defeated the the Indian forces. The British East India Company was beginning to grow and towards the end of the of the seventeenth century India became the point of the the Company's trade. The Company was beginning to go worldwide. Around the world there was a HUGE demand for Indian made Cotton cloth made by Indian weavers. The main [[#|settlements]] of the company (Bombay, Madras and Calcutta) were established in Indian Provinces where cotton textiles for export were available. The settlements were evolved around factories or posts and then were transformed into commercial towns under the British.
